Time with the Dallings

July 17, 2018: After almost a week in the new house, we headed to Utah to pick up our boys and spend time with family. Our buddies the Dallings graciously offered their home as a pit stop on our journey. How could we refuse a stay at the Dalling Bed and Breakfast Buffet?! We recieved the royal treatment, including two delicious rooms and lots of hours of visiting. Our time with the Dallings always goes MUCH too fast. So glad we got to see them! As you can see, our girls loved playing with the Dalling kiddos. (Also, Annie's sweet ballet moves in this pic make me so happy. )❤️

June 2018

June, June. So busy. I hurt my back. We went to a wedding reception of my YW and saw so many old friends. It was the best. I did a social media fast that was a huge blessing. The first two days were almost torturous because I had been spending so much time on social media I didn't know what to do without it. :/ But once I got past that, I felt like there was SO much time available to me. My mind felt rested. I felt the spirit more. I worried less. It was amazing how much of a change it had on me.

More in June. Ruby being her busy self. Playing the rock backyard before we moved. The temple. Clara and her beloved nerf mask she stole from Gray. Ruby being silly at the summer movie. Clara looking sweet while sleeping. Ruby in headphones. Clara and her San Tan 2nd primary aide, Jennifer Carpenter. Ruby and her buddy Spencer Hartman wearing helmets. Gray playing the piano like a pro. What a month!

June 3, 2018- Cute Ruby hung out with me in my bed Saturday after I re-injured my back Friday night. 🤦🏻‍♀️ She preferred to wear head phones (not on) while coloring in her coloring book. Ruby Grace is definitely not short on personality. Love her!

June 3, 2018- Last night, Troy and I got to go to this beautiful girl's wedding reception in Glendale. I was one of Courtney's teachers in our Church youth group way back when we started me school. (The 14-15 year old group, called the Young Women Miamaid class.) I have loved watching her grow up and am so happy for her. She has a gift for loving people and focusing on the exciting aspects of life. Just love you, Courtney! Thanks for letting us take part in your special day. We loved visiting with old friends and reminiscing about our time in Glendale. Despite me hobbling around like an invalid with my sore back, it was a fabulous night! ❤️

June 4, 2018: Miss Clara learned to clasp her hands like this when she was less than two months old. She still does it a lot, especially when she is sleeping. I love it! 😍

June 4, 2018: Last night, the prophet of my church issued several special challenges to the youth. One of the challenges was to take a 7 day fast from social media. I decided I'd like to participate as well. We have a lot going right now. I think this will be just what I need to regain focus and bring the influence of the spirit more into our home. So grateful for a living prophet! ❤️ See you in a week, my friends. 😘

June 15, 2018: My break from social media was rather refreshing. I feel more focused and fulfilled after my 7 day fast. I want to be more intentional with the time I spend on social media from now on. So thankful for a living prophet and his inspired counsel. Here's to spending more of my time focused on the people I love. ❤️

June 18, 2018: Miss Ruby Grace has more energy than either of us know what to do with. (She escaped the house twice today and also dumped an entire water bottle on the living room carpet.🤦🏻‍♀️) Doesn't matter though. She has my heart. ❤️

June 30, 2018: I have some serious Instagram catch up to do. The last week and a half was a blur of boxes and packing tape. I'll start with a goofy pic of Gray. "Mom, come here. I need to show you my piano moves." 😂

June 30, 2018: This is Jen. She was Clara's aide in Primary (children's Sunday school) class at church. Jen was so sweet with Clara and Clara adored her. Clara would look into the primary room and run to Jen each Sunday. Jen brought us dinner the week moved, which is when I took this pic. Bless her forever. We love her so. (And miss her already!)

Jackson Cub Scout Camp

Another great reason for Jackson to go to Utah early was so he could attend Cub Scout Camp with the Woods Cross 6th Ward. Jackson didn't get to attend a camp during our year living in Gilbert. He loves scouts so much and he, of course, loves his buddies from our old ward, so it just sounded like a great idea. I called the Cub Committee Chair, Tanna Baxter and asked her if Jackson could tag along. She was great about it. She told me what to do to get him signed up. Jackson had the time of his life at Cub Scout camp. He earned a bunch of awards and was able to be with Seth non-stop for two days. It was great. So glad it all worked out. My friends Steffane Preston and Debra Mikell sent me pics of camp so I would have them. So sweet of them! I love looking at these pics because Jackson is just brimming with joy. He was SO happy to be back with his buddies.

Jackson & Gray: Time with the Grandparents

My parents offered to take the boys home with them after they helped us move in. This would give us a week  to get settled in the new house with 2 less kids around, before we came to Utah to visit. It was so kind of them. We were worried what the boys would think about that, but they thought it was the best idea ever and didn't miss us a bit.

This is probably because Grandma and Grandpa had them in non-stop fun for the entire week. Swimming, fishing, boating, mini golf, etc. etc. They loved it. They barely wanted to talk to us on the phone when we called. Ha. Jackson got lots of time to play with his buddy Seth Preston while he was in town too, which meant Jackson was in HEAVEN. I'm so grateful the boys were able to spend that extra time with their grandparents. It was so fun for them and it was really helpful for us.

July 15, 2018: This boy. It's the little things that make him happy. Like eating "big corn" at Grandma's house. I took this pic while talking to him on FaceTime. He had put in a special request with Grandma to eat corn on the cob and she fed it to him for lunch AND dinner. He was over the moon happy. He makes me laugh.

July 26, 2018: Troy and I were worried the boys would miss us when they were in Utah without us. They didn't. 😂 It was like Disneyland everyday with Grandma and Grandpa. Boondocks, swimming, boating, fishing with Grandpa Mabey. They were in heaven! Lucky little boys.
